Panel Discussion: European Brain Research Initiatives

Poland’s deeper integration into European RIs is essential to foster innovation, improve scientific excellence, and contribute more actively to international collaborations in neuroscience.

The Panel Access of Poland to European Networks and Infrastructure will gather representatives of EATRIS, eBrains, the European Commission, and the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education, offering a comprehensive perspective on how Poland can enhance its role within European research networks.

The debate will explore the functioning of European Research Infrastructures (RIs) and examine the opportunities and challenges for Central and Eastern European countries, with particular attention to Poland’s participation. Special emphasis will be placed on identifying barriers to accession — such as financial, administrative, and organizational constraints — and on strategies to ensure the effective use of collaborative infrastructures, particularly in the field of neuroscience research.

Discussions will center on the added value of engaging in RI initiatives, including access to advanced technologies, integration into international scientific networks, and the strengthening of national research capacity.
